The Wine Museum La Cité du Vin, Bordaux

Dan Špaňhel France Updated No Comments

Bordeaux is a city of wine, so it's no surprise that it is home to the wine museum La Cité du Vin. The museum is housed in a striking modern glass building shaped like a red wine decanter.

Inside the museum, you can learn about the process of wine production, its history, and everything related to wine. Everything is very interactive, allowing you to smell a variety of scents associated with wine, watch countless videos, and choose the direction the video will take.

The museum is very playful and I think it is suitable for children, who can be entertained for hours on end.

Admission to the museum costs 21 EUR, but it is also included in the very advantageous Bordeaux CityPass. The pass is always worth it if you plan to stay in the city for more than a day and visit some of the main attractions. The admission price also includes a glass of wine at the bar on the top floor with a panoramic terrace, offering views of the surrounding area.

Before leaving the museum, you should definitely not miss the shop, which is stocked with an extraordinary amount of not only excellent local but also world wines. The selection even includes Moravian Pálava from the Sonberk winery.

Cheers and drink responsibly!
