If you happen to be caught in the rain in Istanbul like me and are in the Taksim district, I recommend hiding from it in the small restaurant Hayri Usta Ocakbaşı. The place is very popular among locals, undiscovered by tourists. It focuses on traditional Turkish dishes. The semi-open kitchen is dominated by a charcoal grill, on which delicate dishes are prepared.
Grilled liver with excellently flavored bulgur, grilled pepper, tomato, and bread cost 100 lira, which is about 5.40 EUR.
The main course was complemented by a deliciously flavored vegetable salad. The service in the restaurant is pleasant and fast, and there are several seating areas in the garden in front of the restaurant. And if you want to taste more Turkish dishes during one visit to the restaurant, try the great-looking plate with various types of kebabs. You will leave pleasantly full and satisfied.

Accommodation in Istanbul
I wholeheartedly endorse the Mest Hotel located directly in the heart of Istanbul. The hotel is elegantly renovated, the breakfasts are incredible and the views are spectacular. I last stayed here in the fall of 2022 and will definitely be back again.
