In 2026, V Zátiší Restaurant celebrates an incredible 35 years since opening. As the older, wiser sister of Mlýnec Restaurant, it proves that quality doesn’t age, it just matures.

The kitchen is commanded by young talent Daniel Bureš, who cannot deny the discipline of an MMA fighter nor the creativity from Hell’s Kitchen. Forget the Indian dishes that were at home here for years. Bureš has turned the helm towards “modern Slavic cuisine”.

Service under the direction of Marek Všelicha is relaxed but highly professional and supports the concept of sharing food in the middle of the table.

Moreover, at V Zátiší, they know how to warm the soul with more than just food. The group has long donated a portion of its profits to charity.

V Zátiší Restaurant is my favorite establishment in the center of Prague offering a lunch menu. During my February visit, I tasted goose kaldoun with root vegetables; for the main course, I chose goose breast and confit leg with truffle stuffing, and the sweet ending was chocolate mousse with fruit.

V Zátiší Restaurant is a renowned Prague establishment awarded a Michelin recommendation. The Easter menu I tasted this time offered Italian ravioli with ricotta and gorgonzola; the main course was slowly cooked lamb confit with mashed potatoes and wild garlic. The sweet finish was provided by a light tapioca pudding with mango sorbet inspired by Indian cuisine.
