Fudge is a type of candy similar to butter toffee. It can come in a wide range of flavors. You can buy vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, coffee, nut, orange…
The origin of this delicacy is likely in the United States, with its creation dating back to the late 19th century. However, in Europe, fudge is easily found in the United Kingdom, where it is considered one of the favorite British sweets.

Fudge is made by mixing sugar, butter, and milk, which are heated to around 116 °C. Monitoring the temperature and stirring the mixture is very important, as failing to do so can easily result in the candy becoming too crumbly or too hard once it cools.
🇬🇧 Tip: Enjoy classic British afternoon tea right in the London National Gallery after a guided tour. Great food, porcelain, white tablecloths ... You’ll feel like royalty! 👑

I couldn’t resist buying a package of fudge with clotted cream flavor, prepared to honor the coronation of Charles III. A 150 g package cost 2.50 GBP (2.80 EUR), and the “toffees” were gone in no time.
If you’re not familiar with fudge, give it a try. You might even find yourself traveling across the ocean for it 😊
Enjoy your treat!
