If you have already visited large and well-known markets in Bishkek, like the Osh Bazaar or the Orto Say Bazaar, and still can’t get enough of markets, the small Ak Emir bazaar (Ак-Эмир базар) might be another place you could check out.

This small market is located in the central part of Bishkek and offers a wide variety of products, making it popular among both locals and tourists. I recommend visiting it if you are nearby or if you don’t have time to visit the larger markets, but in my opinion, it’s not worth a special trip.

The Ak Emir bazaar is primarily focused on food, fresh produce, and dried goods. You can find a wide selection of fruits, vegetables, dried fruits, nuts, and local specialties here. Besides food, you will also find various household items and small goods, making the market a practical place for daily shopping.

Compared to the Osh bazaar and the Orto Say bazaar, Ak Emir is tiny, so it’s well-organized and easy to navigate, ideal for quick shopping. Prices are slightly higher than at other markets, as there isn’t as much competition here.

If you’re looking for another market experience in Bishkek, Ak Emir might be a suitable place to visit.
Happy shopping!
