Blueberry dumplings from Kohútka

Nový Hrozenkov is a small village located near the border with Slovakia. My birthplace. It is situated in the middle of beautiful nature and is a popular destination for tourists in both summer and winter. Nový Hrozenkov also has a business with a renowned gastronomic specialty. It is the blueberry dumplings from the mountain hotel Kohútka.

The leavened dumplings are filled with blueberries, which grow directly on the hills around the hotel. The filling is definitely not skimped on. The portion is huge, generously sprinkled with poppy seeds, sugar, and drenched in a decent amount of melted butter. The price for this specialty is 239 CZK (about 9.60 EUR), but the portion is so large that it serves as a main course, or as a dessert for 2 – 3 people.

And when you eat the stuffed blueberry dumplings to the last bite and return through the beautiful Wallachian nature back to the valley, you can also enjoy an incredible view.
