La Vita Restaurant: Excellent Italian Cuisine in Nový Bor

Few would expect it in Nový Bor, but at Purkyňova 173 you can come across a place that could easily be found somewhere in Italy. La Vita restaurant is truly a culinary revelation in this area, and since I spend quite a bit of time in the Českolipsko region, I know I’m not exaggerating.

La Vita restaurant focuses on Italian cuisine, which it prepares with elegance and taste. Even as you enter, you’re welcomed by an interior designed in a modern yet cozy style: clean lines, subtle decorations, and an atmosphere that never feels cold.

The La Vita menu relies on tried-and-true Italian classics and serves them with lightness and precision. The prices are definitely higher than in nearby restaurants, but so are the quality and the overall experience.

You can start with a bowl of Sicilian olives or treat yourself to a classic bruschetta with tomatoes and burrata. Lovers of bold flavors will appreciate the beef tenderloin tartare with truffle, Fontina cheese, and confit egg yolk; if you love aged beef and the intense flavor of truffle as much as I do, you’ll be delighted.

In the pasta section, classics like spaghetti carbonara reign supreme, while among the main meat dishes, the slow-roasted porchetta with potato purée and rich beef sauce can’t be missed. For me, it’s a dish without which I can’t imagine any visit to Rome. A lighter alternative is, for example, grilled octopus served with fresh salad.

And if you finish your evening with tiramisu, you’ll leave with the feeling that you’ve just enjoyed the best Italian dessert for miles around.

The entire menu feels balanced, pleasantly concise, and straightforward.

It may sound like an exaggeration, but La Vita restaurant truly stands out from the local competition. I’ve visited several times, from fully booked Valentine’s evenings to quieter days. And although you might find small imperfections at La Vita, this is a place well worth recommending.

Bon appétit!
