What to Eat in Dublin

Dublin, the capital of Ireland, offers gastronomic experiences primarily for beer and whiskey lovers. At the Guinness Storehouse, you will learn everything about the production of the most famous Irish beer, Guinness. The Jameson Distillery also has an interesting exhibit in the city. Plus, there are plenty of pubs and bars, especially in the Temple Bar district. Dublin comes alive at night!

What to Eat in Dublin:

  • Guinness Beer. The world-famous dark beer has been brewed at the St. James’s Gate Brewery in Dublin since 1759. A visit to the brewery and a taste of freshly poured Guinness is almost a must when visiting Dublin.
  • Coddle. A hearty dish made from boiled pork, potatoes, and onions, considered a traditional Dublin meal with roots in the city’s working-class neighborhoods.
  • Dublin Bay Prawns. Prawns caught in Dublin Bay are a renowned local specialty, often featured on the menus of Dublin’s restaurants.
  • Irish Coffee. A hot drink made from coffee, Irish whiskey, sugar, and cream. This drink was first prepared in 1943 at Foynes Airport in County Limerick and quickly became popular throughout Ireland, especially in Dublin’s cafes and bars.
