Kërnacka Korçe: Grilled Minced Meat Sausages

Dan Špaňhel Albania No Comments

Kërnacka Korçe are elongated sticks made from minced meat, most commonly beef or lamb, seasoned with salt, pepper, and other spices, then fried or grilled. This is a traditional Albanian dish, and it ranks among the best-known and most characteristic foods of the Korçë region in southeastern Albania.

I tasted kërnacka at the restaurant Zgara Te Çunat in the town of Himarë (see Where to Eat in Albania). It was absolutely perfect - juicy, slightly spicy, and full of bold flavor. One portion cost 500 ALL (5 EUR).

Bon appétit!
