Garash: Gluten-free Chocolate Cake

Dan Špaňhel Bulgaria Updated No Comments

The garash chocolate cake is a very popular type of Bulgarian dessert. The dough is dominated by ground walnut kernels, and flour is not in the traditional recipe, making the cake gluten-free. The filling is made of sweet cream and chocolate. The top of the garash cake is covered with a glossy chocolate glaze.

Although I am more of a fan of savory snacks than sweet ones, the garash chocolate cake has won me over. The combination of walnuts and chocolate is great. If I have the opportunity, I would love to taste it elsewhere. I tried this gluten-free cake at Kramer's pastry shop, and it cost about 2.80 EUR. And if you are already in this well-rated pastry shop, be sure to try something else as well, you won't regret it. I couldn't resist their local version of apple strudel, which was also great.

Bon appetit!
